Sunderland documentary
Something that anyone with young kids will understand has just happened for me - my missus has ko'd whlle getting them down. I now have an unexpected opportunity to empty the bottle of red that was opened and watch something she wouldn't particularly enjoy on a Friday night...

Last night something slightly similar happened and I stuck on the Man City show from Amazon. I know it's been talked about positively but I had to knock it off after 20 mins, felt like I was watching a variant of Man City TV, boring expensive foreigners training in luxury with an over excited Spaniard leading them. Granted he is an excellent tactician but he's never managed at a level lower than the very top so I have little interest in what he has to say. He is a very very lucky man.

Now the Sunderland show holds a bit of interest, obviously the show producers were a bit savvy and knew they might get something a bit special, but I'm sure a double relegation wasn't in mind. I'm half way through - slightly over produced with slow-mo's and close ups on angry fans, especially in a friendly against Celtic, but for the proper football fan it seems much more worth a watch than the Man City one.

Re: Sunderland documentary
Cheers, will look out for this, sounds more interesting and down to earth that the Man city one! sure the owners have maybe sponsored it or got the media onside to say how great it is???? When all it really is, is a series of adverts and promotions to get more overseas supporters and for people to start following Man city, buying all the merchandise and promoting the brand.

Just sacked off the 2nd episode after 10mins, I think maybe I'm just not that interested in anyone other than West Ham!

Get Amazon to do a series on us, especially good if it's the year we win the cup.

Re: Sunderland documentary
I watched all the Juve one but I did follow them quite a bit when younger (More Serie A games on than Premier League where and when I grew up) and it had the added story of Buffon's last season with them.

Watch ORIENT FOR A FIVER on Youtube.

It is magnificent.

Re: Sunderland documentary
watched it. it just confirms the shambolic nature of a club put in a position where they were lumbered with a lopsided squad filled with many overpaid hasbeens, brought in by a succession of journeyman managers. at the the end of it, the only people you care about are some of the fans and the staff at the club. short, the
ex owner, only appears towards the end of the last episode as he's filmed trying to get away from a reporter

Agree Lenny... fantastic viewing... bloke I know (Terry Howard) was one of the blokes sacked and offered out by John Sitton...

So you, you little cunt when I tell you to do something and you, you fucking big cunt - when I tell you to do something, do it. And if you come back at me, we’ll have a fucking right sort out in here.

‘And you can pair up if you like. And you can fucking pick someone else to help you, and you can bring your fucking dinner. Because, by the time I’m finished with you, you’ll fucking need it. Do you fucking hear what I’m saying or not?'

Re: Sunderland documentary
Bring your dinner was the sound bite that made it go viral I think, never heard it, he nicked it from Robert Duvall.

I saw a film called Colors starring Robert Duvall and Sean Penn. In one scene, Penn was taking the p*** out of Duvall - in the same way those players were doing to me - and he had enough.

‘Duvall says: ''You look at me and you see an old man who’s finished, let’s get in the ring tomorrow. And you can bring your lunch''.

'I went all abstract and nicked that, saying I could take both of them on. I’ll always stand my ground.'

I’m on episode 7 and actually found this good viewing.
Maybe I’m sentimental, but can’t help feeling sorry for some of the older fans.

Just watched it, cheers to whoever suggested it. Great craic, but what a shit fucking coach he was. All very well giving it hairdryer when you're Alex fucking Ferguson, but at no point, not one, did the cunt have a single tactical idea. Any cunt with half a brain could have done better. English football, eh ? Fucking great.

Started the Sunderland doc last night, watched first two eps and enjoying it. Is mainly around the CEO....and its easy to see why theyve been a car crash last few seasons

Old man is a Sunderland fan so had a vested interest in it.

Thought it was quality.

The MD talked a good game but my god he seemed out of his depth.

Properly shite squad mixed in with some proper tossers. Makes you feel sorry for the staff behind the scenes.

Enjoyed Coleman squaring up to the gobby fan at the end.

I tried watching that Orient for a Fiver. It just seemed to be a lot of shouting and then I fell asleep.

Re: Sunderland documentary
Just finished watching this, was decent viewing to be fair, very badly managed from a club perspective, felt sorry for the staff and some of their fans - some of the players were properly taking the piss. Coleman got stitched up in regards to signings etc, imagine getting excited about signing Ashley Fletcher as some did on here.
